Literary Vacations | Dear Author…

This week’s TGIF! question: Literary Vacations: If you could take a trip this summer to any place within a fictional book, where would you go? Tell us about your summer dream vacation!

I’d love to go to Colby, the beach town in several of Sarah Dessen’s novels. It’s quaint and it’s beach! What more could I want? :) And it’s actually based on a real beach! See which in this video of Sarah Dessen:

This week’s Follow Friday question: What is one thing you wish you could tell your favorite author?

Dear Diana Gabaldon,

Although I am impatiently waiting years for your latest installment in the Outlander series, I understand that it takes you that long to create my favorite books ever. Thank you for taking your time and getting them just right every time. So, keep doing what you’re doing…even if it kills me. :)

I love your FF post! I haven’t read the Outlander series yet (I heard it was awesome) but I know how you feel about waiting for the next installment in the series we come to love. It’s kind of a torture, actually. Happy Friday, Jess! :)

Colby sounds perfect! The land of cute and swoonworthy boys! Also ha, love your letter to Diana. It reminds me to fans’ reactions to G.R.R. Martin although not as polite.

I haent read the outlander series, but I’ll have to look into it. Sometimes I wish more authors would take the time to do it write instead of pumping something out that isnt up to normal standards. I’d rather wait a bit longer then be disappointed.

  5. Jessica@a GREAT read

A beach might be nice! I don’t like warm weather too much personally! We’re already in the 90s with humidity in St. Louis, so I want to go somewhere cooler. Hogwarts was my choice and I bet it would be cool there!

I grew up in NC so I have been to Emerald Isle Beach too! It really is a beautiful place! Thanks for posting this video, I have never seen it!  I loved seeing the beach in it.  I REALLY need to plan a trip back there soon!

GREAT answers!!  I agreed with the beach destination for my answer too, though it was more broad to include just a BEACH.  :)

That is 2 for Colby. Maybe we need a bloggers roadtrip to Colby. Think about it.

Ahh! That video with Sarah Dessen just made my day (slash ruined my day because now I’m seriously craving beach). I just read Along for the Ride for the first time last month and I love love loved it! I want to go to the end of the boardwalk and hang out with the girls. Or go to the Stop and Shop.

Old follower. Love the blog as always. Feel free to visit my FF!

The pier had to be repaired and partly rebuilt after Hurricane Irene!
