Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’d Like To See Made Into A Movie

1st May 2012 Jess @ Gone with the Words 2012, Features/Memes, Top Ten Tuesday

This is a double-edged sword because while I’d love to see these books on screen, I also know they will never live up to the book. But here it goes… whitecat1. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon – This would probably make a better tv series than movie because of the magnitude of this incredible series. There’s no way a movie could satisfy me. :) 2. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins – I would love to see Anna, and Etienne, and Paris. :)

3. White Cat by Holly Black – This story about cons and curses would be amazing on screen with the right actors.

untiltherewasyou4. Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen – 1920s, flappers, prohibition, mobsters…Yes, please!! 5. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han – I think this series would be  fabulous as a movie. The perfect summer romance flick. 6. Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins – Another great romance that would be an awesome movie. It has tons of great characters with vivid personalities. thefaultinourstars7. The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan – The tone would have to be spot-on, but this needs to be made into a movie. 8. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green & David Levithan – There’s so much in this book that would translate into a great movie, but most especially Tiny Cooper. :) 9. Looking for Alaska by John Green – As long as it’s not turned cheesy, it could be amazing. 10. The Fault in our Stars by John Green – This one could really make an impact if done right. Someone needs to make it happen!

It’s a definite yes to Anna and the French Kiss, White Cat, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Love those book very, very much. Would love to see them up on the screen!

I’m reading your list going “Oh! I should have said that too!” *lol*

I think ANY Kristan Higgins book would be great, and I’m up in the air about TFiOS – Part of me would LOVE to see that as a movie; but part of me worries it’d take on the cheese of Jodi Picoult and Nicholas Sparks movies…

Check out my Top Ten / Teaser Tuesday!

I alos have Looking For Alaska on my TTT  though it’s the only book of his I’ve read.  I’d really like to get to The Fault in Our Stars.  Also, lots of people (like EVERYONE) loved Anna.  I still haven’t read it!  Sooo late to the game.

The Fault In Our Stars–Simply amazing!!! Great post!

I would love it if you could check out my TTT!

Anna & The French Kiss and The Fault In Our Stars! Yep. Couldn’t agree less on that. Awesome list !:D

    Drop by my Top 10?

Oh goodness, I would LOVE to see a Tiny Cooper on screen! He’d be hilarious…I have no idea if you watch the Glee Project or Glee, but I think Alex Newell would fit that bill quite well. And I’m so mixed about a The Fault In Our Stars movie…I know they’re making one already so it’s not like I have a say (as if I ever did), but I’m so scared they won’t do any justice to how beautiful a story it is. I’m terrified it will go by way of Nicholas Sparks book/movies.

    My Top Ten

  7. BookTasty

I totally agree with the Jenny Han books! They would make the perfect summer movies! :)

  8. Lena Beana

How dare you copy my TFiOS movie idea!  Hahaha, just kidding! I like how your last 3 book to movies are all John Green books.  He is the man! :D

  9. Ginger @ GReads!

I can totally see Until There Was You made into a movie. I am reading it like one in my head right now :) and OF COURSE the Summer series needs to be made into a movie. I would flip my shit over seeing Conrad on the big screen!

  10. @BookwormAsheley

Oh my goodness, our lists didn’t overlap at all. But I ALMOST put The Forest of Hands and Teeth on mine. Like, I had it on there and then I deleted it! I’d totally love to see that one as a movie. And I’m sure that once I’ve read Outlander I’d love to see that one too. Especially if it is as swoony as I think it’ll be. hehe

  11. Christina Franke

I so do not want to see them try to make Looking for Alaska into a movie, personally. Haha, but I would totally go see Will Grayson, Will Grayson. Best part would definitely be the musical. TINY COOPER!

  12. Cayce

What a great list! I’d love to see Anna and the… and White Cat (? Cassel?)!!
And anything by John Green would be awesome, especially Will Grayson, Will Grayson. I loved that book :)

  13. Karen

I have only read Anna from your list – I would actually want to see Lola and the Boy Next Door :-) I love me some Cricket!
