Banned Books Week Giveaway Hop

Banned Books Week Hop hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer & I Read Banned Books.

“Banned Books Week (BBW) is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment. Held during the last week of September, Banned Books Week highlights the benefits of free and open access to information while drawing attention to the harms of censorship by spotlighting actual or attempted bannings of books across the United States.” – ALA WEBSITE

The opportunity to read what we like (or need, in some cases) shouldn’t be up to anyone but ourselves. If a parent doesn’t want their child reading something, then don’t let them read it. If it’s assigned school reading, talk to the teacher about alternatives. DO NOT take the chance of others to read it though! That’s my biggest issue with banning books, that they take them away from other people, people who may find help somehow in the words of those books.

I wanted to select books I’ve read and loved that are or have been challenged. I am very happy to be able to giveaway a book to 2 lucky winners, 1 US and 1 International (only somewhere the Book Depository ships to)!!

DON’T FORGET TO VISIT ALL THE OTHER HOPS FOR OTHER CHANCES TO WIN BOOKS!

the concept that so many books are banned in schools and libraries is absolutely crazy. If we begin banning books, then tv should go next because if we a picture tells a thousand words then tv is killing our minds faster than a book would.

Why is everyone entering in the comments? haha.

“DO NOT take the chance of others to read it though! I love how you suggested if a parent has a problem with required reading, to just discuss it with the teacher!
