Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge {03}

2012, Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge

Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge was created by Amanda of On a Book Bender and Tara of 25 Hour Books  to shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else they found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books they received that week and plan on reading in the coming week.

What’s the Word in Jess’s World…

I didn’t blog this week, and here’s why:

  • This week I was sick. I was so incredibly, uncomfortably ill. I had an ear AND sinus infection. I’m now better, but that was such a shitty way to spend this week.
  • Still packing/moving, which is really annoying and leaves me with very little energy or drive to read/blog.
  • Had a bit of burnout going on. Still not completely over it, but I’m trying to push through it. :)

Around the Blogosphere…

Talking more about burnout, check out these two awesome posts by Kelly and Alissa:

Book-to-movie news!

  • Perks of Being a Wallflower – We recently learned that the trailer will first air during the MTV Movie Awards preshow, but now we also know that the film will open in limited release on September 14!!!
  • The Great Gatsby – Have you seen the trailer yet?! Baz Luhrmann is the director and he also happens to have directed one of my favorite movies, Romeo + Juliet, which also star Leo DiCaprio, as does Gatsby. It looks different and interesting and I can’t wait to see it. Check out the trailer on Sarah’s blog, Storybound Girl. :D

Here are more newsworthy posts:

  • What is OverDrive?  – Sabrina tells a little bit about this very awesome way to borrow audiobooks and ebooks
  • Would You Like To Be A Guest Reviewer at Fiction Vixen? – Enjoy romance books and would like to review some? Check out the post at Fiction Vixen!
  • Armchair BEA week is almost here! Check out this post if you’re planning to participate.

A Long Way from You looks really cute! I want to check out The Goddess Legacy, too—I’m really enjoying the rest of the series!

  2. Amanda @ On a Book Bender

*huggles your face*  I hope next week goes so much better for you.  I was just thinking the other day that you had been very quiet.

Also, the Overdrive post!  I think that more people (like me) need to see that.  Before it was mentioned to me, I had no idea I could get audiobooks through Overdrive.  And even though my library doesn’t have the biggest selection, it’s still AMAZING!  More people must know about this!

    • Jess @ Gone with the Words

*huggles back* I’m so hoping for that too. It has to be better though, because there’s no way it could be worse, so I’m optimistic, lol.

I wish ALL THE PEOPLE knew about Overdrive! So handy! But yeah, sometimes not all the books I want are available either. :(

  3. Bookgoonie

Glad you feeling better. It sucks to be sick, especially when moving. Though moving into a new house is exciting, moving sucks. Double whammy.

Get to feeling book blogger better, because I’ll miss you. Probably a good time to take off with all the house consuming stuff.

  4. Estelle

Sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well. :( That’s the worst and then moving?! Oh geez. You need a vaca very very soon.

Gotta say… love the color of that last book you got. HOT. haha. Hope you find some time to yourself this weekend and relax. Feel Better! xo

    • Jess @ Gone with the Words

Thanks, Estelle! Yeah, being sick and packing is the worse. I have zero energy for anything else. My vaca will consist of being able to lay around the house, reading my books! lol That’s all I want to do.

      Yeah…that is a very sexy cover! :D

  5. OUAC - Stephanie

I noticed it was pretty quiet here! :( I’m glad that you’re feeling better though. Being that sick is NEVER any good or fun. I hope this week is better for you in every way. :)

  6. Katie @ BlookGirl

I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling better now, but sad to  hear that you’re still dealing with burnout. It’s definitely something we ALL go through, on smaller and larger scales, throughout the year. Just remember why you read and why you blog, and if it ever feels like a job, just take a break. We’re all here for you :-)

I’ve heard really good things about Pushing the Limits thus far, so I hope you enjoy it. I don’t know much else about the other books, so I’m gonna check them out on GoodReads now :-)

Hope the week ahead is a wonderful one! <3

  7. oodlesofbooks

Glad to hear you’re feeling better. Good luck with the rest of your moving. You got great books, enjoy! :)

  8. Book Soulmates

Aw, I’m sorry you’re feeling all sickly :( I hope you feel better and get back to kicking ass soon!

Thanks for sharing those posts by Kelly and Alissa.  I hadn’t seen them yet but it was something that I needed to read.
