Jess’s 2015 Challenges!

Jess's 2015 Challenges!

To say I’ve signed up for “some” reading challenges would be a bit of an understatement… I’m participating in 7! Five are reading challenges, two are not (I’ll tell you about them below).

What I realized when choosing between them is that I’ll be able to read books that will be qualifying for more than one challenge at a time, which means ALL THE CHALLENGES FOR ME! lol

Ok! I’ll be posting an update round-up post of all challenges the last weekend of each month, so keep an eye out for those. OR! You could check out each challenge from the menu bar! There, all updates will be listed. Let’s get down to it…

Brittany @ The Book Addict’s Guide is going to help us stay on top of things with her challenge. I mean, I’m already doing the challenge just by getting this post together! WIN! Click on the image for more information!

January will be all about the picking challenges, making resolutions, scheduling, forming plans, picking reading/blogging buddies. The first scheduling some posts, which I’ve done, and now selecting and posting about the challenges I’m joining!

I’ve created two things to help me keep tabs of the books I’m reading and the challenges I’m reading them for.

First: Goodreads shelves…

And also: A spreadsheet… (idea courtesy of Kaitlin @ Reading is My Treasure)

I’m hoping this will make it easier for me and it’ll help me avoid missing any.

NOTE: ALL UPDATES FOR THIS CHALLENGE WILL NOW BE AT GONE WITH HER THOUGHTS!

#FitReaders hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About. It’s pretty straight forward. To join you have to commit to be active this year, which I am totally doing since I got a brand new fancy treadmill for Christmas! YAYY! Click on the image for more information on #FitReaders.

Challenge Hashtag: #FitReaders

My goals for this challenge is spend at least 30 minutes on the treadmill four days of the week, either walking or jogging. Since I’m not keen on posting my weight online, let’s just say I want to lose 30lbs, so we’ll count that down at check-ins, which are weekly for this challenge. Look for those posts on Sundays!

For Roof Beam Reader’s official TBR Pile Challenge the goal is to read at least 12 books from your “to be read” pile within the year. There’s a few TBR Challenges out there but I chose this one because the books have to have been published in 2013 or earlier and I have a TON of those! And just to be safe, you can have two alternates for when a book does not work out! Click on the image for more information!

Here’s what I’ve chosen to read…

2015 Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge

The Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge is hosted by The Book Vixen and I don’t know why I haven’t done this one before because I read A LOT of contemporary romance! Last year it was my most read genre! It’s pretty straight forward: read as many Contemporary Romance books as you’d like, whether they be young adult, new adult, or adult, M/F, M/M, or F/F. They just have to be Contemporary! No paranormal, historical, time-travel, fantasy, science fiction, or mystery/suspense/thriller. I got this! Click on the image for more information!

Challenge Hashtag: None yet.

I’m picking level 2nd Base: read 6 – 10 books. But I can always round the bases (by reading more than that)! hehe Here’s what I’ve picked…

Alexa Loves Books & Hello, Chelly are the Flights of Fantasy Reading Challenge, where you will challenge yourself to read a certain number of fantasy books in 2015! That simple!

Challenge Hashtag: #FlightsOfFantasy

I’ve challenged my self to read at least 10! Here’s the ones I’m picking from right now, though this could change if I add more throughout the year…

The Daily Prophecy

Mel @ The Daily Prophecy is hosting the Fairytale Retelling Reading Challenge, where basically any retelling will count toward your goal. Simple, right?? Click on the image for more information!

Challenge Hashtag: #FairytaleRC

I’m picking level Magic mirror: 5 – 9 books. Here’s the ones I’m picking from right now, though this could change if I add more throughout the year…

And last but not least….

The 2015 Re-Read Challenge

Belle of the Literati and So Obsessed With are hosting The Re-Read Challenge! I wanted to join this one because I always reread books. Maybe not a lot of them, but at least one or two. Click on the image for more information!

Challenge Hashtag: #ReRead2015

This will be a month by month challenge for me, but I’m hoping to reread a few books this year, starting with this one…

And that’s it! This took me alllllll day but it was worth it because I’m really excited for it all! :D Are you participating in any challenges this year? Tell me about them in the comments or leave me a link!

Welcome to the fairytale challenge, you are up for some really good books! The Lunar Chronicles are amazing, I love the unique sci-fi twist. Cruel beauty is one of my favorite books from 2014 and it’s beautiful. Scarlet is SO GOOD and Lady Thief is even better so I recommend putting the sequel on your list too. I liked Splintered, was a bit disappointed by A wicked thing and I can’t wait for A court of thorns and roses, Fairest and Crimson bound.

I’m participating in Flights of fantasy & the re-read challenge. I’m also doing a TBR pile challenge hosted by another blogger. DAUGHTER OF THE FOREST is on your list and that makes me incredibly happy. You can also count this for the fairytale challenge by the way, it’s a retelling from the Six swans! The Grisha series & the TOG books are good, especially the last one. HOF is epic and The assassin’s blade has so many feelings.

Okay, I will stop rambling now :’)

I haven’t set my challenges for this year yet. Hopefully by next weekend I’ll make a decision :) The Organization Challenge is definitely on my list, though. You picked some great challenges this year, Jess. Good luck with them!

  3. looloolooweez

I’m doing the TBR Pile Challenge too! Looks like you have a LOT of great titles to choose from this year. I hope you like the Shadow & Bone series. I’m starting on Things We Know by Heart pretty soon as well. Good luck to you, and happy new year!

  4. Amber Elise

Yaaay I’m doing the Book Blogger Organization Challenge as well. Although my January isn’t going as smoothly. I’ve got checklists in two separate places but I’m failing at checking things off!

    Good luck!

  5. Hannah @ So Obsessed With

Woo! Dang girl. I love that you’re going all out this year! So excited that you’re joining The Re-Read Challenge and can’t wait to see what you end up re-reading :) Like you, I decided to sign up for a number of challenges because I realized lots of books could count for more than one of them. That’s a win for me! Hope you meet all your goals this year!

  6. Alexa S.

WOOHOO, YOU GO GIRL WITH ALL THESE AWESOME CHALLENGES! I’m pretty sure you’re going to kick butt at every single one of them ;) (Thanks for joining us for Flights into Fantasy! I am already excited for you based on your potential TBR…)
