Can Anna find love in the City of Light?

Anna is happy in Atlanta. She has a loyal best friend and a crush on her coworker at the movie theater, who is just starting to return her affection. So she's less than thrilled when her father decides to send her to a boarding school in Paris for her senior year.

But despite not speaking a word of French, Anna meets some cool new people, including the handsome Étienne St. Clair, who quickly becomes her best friend. Unfortunately, he's taken —and Anna might be, too. Will a year of romantic near misses end with the French kiss she's waiting for?

Happy Music Monday! This is a weekly feature hosted here at Gone with the Words where I post a video of a song that reminds me of something or someone I’ve read, anything that relates to it in my mind. I’d love to know what songs remind you of certain books or character. Create a post and leave the link or just tell me about them in the comments!!

So, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins was one of my favorite books last year. I’m sure many of you have read it and agree that it is awesomesauce. If you haven’t read it though..do NOT wait any longer!! It is SO good!!Anna and Étienne St. Claire have an instant attraction to one another. BUT they cannot act on this said attraction as they each have a significant other. Although…Anna’s is less so than St. Claire’s. They become very close friends and spends tons of time together. Soon their feelings grow from friendship to love and they still can’t do anything about it…thanks to St. Claire. There is a lot of longing and frustration and it’s why I thought this song is perfect for them.

Jason Mraz is an incredible artist. His concert a couple of years ago is still one of my all time favorites. If you get a chance to go see him perform, do it! If it Kills me is one of my favorite songs of his.

Just read these lyrics! Tell me they don’t describe Anna and Étienne perfectly?! :)

Well you and I
Why, we go carrying on for hours on end
We get along much better
Than you and your boyfriend
Well all I really wanna do is love you
A kind much closer than friends use
But I still can’t say it after all we’ve been through
And all I really want from you is to feel me
As the feeling inside keeps building
And I will find a way to you if it kills me
If it kills me
How long, can I go on like this,
Wishing to kiss you,
Before I rightly explode?
This double life I lead isn’t healthy for me
In fact it makes me nervous
If I get caught I could be risking it all

Cause maybe there’s a lot that I miss
In case I’m wrong
If I should be so bold
I’d ask you to hold my heart in your hand
I’d tell you from the start how I’ve longed to be your man
But I never said a word
I guess I’m gonna miss my chance again

BONUS!

I’m a huge fan of So You Think You Can Dance and this song was used by Travis Wall on his first choreographed routine on the show. I get teary watching it every time!

It's a nice song, actually. I'm still to read Anna and the French kiss -though it is in the short list.

And I'll keep this song in mind when I'm doing it.

    Thanks for sharing
