Georgina Kincaid has been a bad, bad succubus...
...which should be a good thing. But lately, thanks to her foul mood over breaking up with bestselling writer Seth Mortensen, she's been so wicked that Seattle's über-demon Jerome, decides to "outsource" Georgina to a rival-and have her spy for him in the process.
Being exiled to the frozen north-okay, Vancouver-and leaving Seth in the cozy clutches of his new girlfriend is unpleasant enough. Then Jerome is kidnapped, and all immortals under his control mysteriously lose their powers. One bright spot: with her life-sucking ability gone, there's nothing to keep Georgina from getting down and dirty with Seth-nothing apart from his girlfriend that is. Now, as the supernatural population starts turning on itself, a newly mortal Georgina must rescue her boss and figure out who's been playing them-or all hell will break loose...
Music Monday is a feature where I post a video of a song that reminds me of something or someone I’ve read…anything that relates to it in my mind.
What songs remind you of certain books or character?? Create a post and leave the link or just tell me about them in the comments. I’d love to know!!
I read this series last year, all four books that were out at the time, in one week. Suffice it to say I loved these characters so much, I loved Georgina and Seth so much, I was devastated when I finished Succubus Heat. Succubus Dreams and Succubus Heat left me so sad for this couple that I couldn’t read anything else for about a week! I just couldn’t stop thinking about them!! Richelle Mead knows how to break your heart…
In Succubus Heat, Seth, who is a novelist, has given Georgina, who is probably his biggest fan, an ARC of All Fools Night, the latest in Seth’s popular Cady & O’Neill book series. He opens all his books with a quote or a poem but this time he opened with lyrics from a song. The lyrics are “And if I only could, I’d make a deal with God, And I’d get him to swap our places.” from Running Up That Hill(p. 100). Those lyrics express exactly what Seth would do for Georgina if he could! Seth and Georgina go into detail about the meaning behind them on page 267, but I don’t want to give away too much. You need to read this series NOW!
To me, this cover by Placebo of Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill is SO much better than the original. It’s so haunting! I completely fell in love with it from the first listen. I’m posting both, the original and the cover. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. :)
