What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university.

But everything she's ever worked for is threatened when Ty Green moves to her school. Not only is he an amazing QB, but he's also amazingly hot. And for the first time, Jordan's feeling vulnerable. Can she keep her head in the game while her heart's on the line?

I cannot begin to tell you how THOROUGHLY I enjoyed Catching Jordan. I could not put it down. It was as if the show Friday Night Lights and all of Sarah Dessen’s books had a baby. Yup, that good.

What I absolutely admire most about this book is how authentic these character’s felt. The second thing I like is the fact that there’s a girl who not only is the captain of the football team, but an all-state quarterback. WHOA. I liked that it wasn’t a joke either. I thought, “Oh, a girl on the football team…I bet she gets a lot of crap from the guys.” But NO! They respect her! Everyone does! And I loved that about this story. I loved Jordan’s drive, but I also loved watching her get all girly when facing the hottest guys she’s ever laid eyes on. Those moments when she’s vulnerable and unsure of herself are what really made me connect with her.

But I haven’t told you my favorite part about this book….which is the love interest twist. If you haven’t read this book yet, DO NOT READ BEYOND THIS POINT! ……So I kind of knew Sam would turn out to have had a lifelong thing for Jordan. I saw that one coming. What I did not expect was that Jordan would pick him. They never pick the best friend!!! I was SO happy, y’all!! So, so happy. Because let’s face it, Ty was all that and a bag of chips, but Sam Henry, flaws and all, completely stole my heart. But he was bad sometimes, wasn’t he? I know, I know! He was terrible at times. But I guess there’s only so much a boy can take before he falls off the deep end. I’m just glad he was able to quit being a butthead. SPOILERS OVER, PEOPLE!

So with all that being said, I can assure you that Miranda Kenneally has gained yet another fan in me. I can guarantee that her books will be on my insta-buy list from this moment on. (<–Total Shania Twain moment I had right there. You know you sang it, too.)

These books are awesome and I don’t even have to ask myself twice the next time Miranda Kenneally releases something — I know I’ll just pick it up and read it, no questions asked.

And yes — with your spoiler. I saw that, too. But it was still a really nice journey!

I love your description of this as FNL and Sarah Dessen’s books-although my experience wasn’t quite as positive, that still makes me so happy to read :)

I just read this recently and I felt the exact same way! The love interest twist took me completely by surprise but I loved the direction it went in. I can’t wait to read the next one, Stealing Parker :)

    1. I love the cover of this book. Normally people who are cut-off on book covers don’t really do it for me, but something about this cover is really neat.

    2. I have this book on my shelf! Why haven’t I read it? I love football and I’ve started reading contemporary. Put an L on my forehead and call me a loser! Or don’t, and tell me to hurry up and read it. Either way, I need to get it together because I’m hearing really good things about this whole series lately.

    3. I had that Shania song in my wedding. The reason: my sister insisted on singing it. And I really wanted my sister to sing. Hahaha. I had completely forgotten about it until you mentioned it just now. I have laughed and felt all warm and fuzzy and also wanted to read this book. So YAY for another great blog post. ALWAYS happens when I come here!

      1. I love this cover too…there’s something really special about it, but I can’t put my finger on it!

      2. I was the same way! It was on my shelf for a while and finally picked it up after being offered to review the next book, Stealing Parker. It was a push that shouldn’t have been a push, because this book should have been read AGES ago! Don’t make me push you!! :P

      3. Oooh my GAH! That song is still beautiful today! I bet it was such an emotional moment to have your sis singing that at your wedding! I would have bawled. LOL
