In this New Adult debut by Robin York, a college student is attacked online and must restore her name—and stay clear of a guy who’s wrong for her, but feels so right.

When Caroline Piasecki’s ex-boyfriend posts their sex pictures on the Internet, it destroys her reputation as a nice college girl. Suddenly her once-promising future doesn’t look so bright. Caroline tries to make the pictures disappear, hoping time will bury her shame. Then a guy she barely knows rises to her defense and punches her ex to the ground.

West Leavitt is the last person Caroline needs in her life. Everyone knows he’s shady. Still, Caroline is drawn to his confidence and swagger—even after promising her dad she’ll keep her distance. On late, sleepless nights, Caroline starts wandering into the bakery where West works.

They hang out, they talk, they listen. Though Caroline and West tell each other they’re “just friends,” their feelings intensify until it becomes impossible to pretend. The more complicated her relationship with West gets, the harder Caroline has to struggle to discover what she wants for herself—and the easier it becomes to find the courage she needs to fight back against the people who would judge her.

When all seems lost, sometimes the only place to go is deeper.

Advance praise for DEEPER:

“The perfect new adult story...West will make you swoon!”New York Times bestselling author Monica Murphy

“Beautifully written and full of swoony tender moments, toe-curling chemistry, and delicious, twisty angst...Stop whatever you’re doing and read this book.”—Christina Lauren, author of the Beautiful Bastard series

I don’t think I’d given much thought to revenge porn before reading Deeper, which is exactly why books like these need to continue being written. I felt such a helplessness for Caroline, which is I’m sure a feeling a lot of victims of revenge porn feel.

Caroline starts out pretty broken up about the situation her ex has put her in. She’s let it defeat her for such a long time. But the moment she walks into West, like, literally walks into his elbow as he’s punching someone, she seems to be jolted into life. Caroline and West have history. They sort of history that involves instant attraction, no talking and a lot of coveting. So she definitely finds it shocking to find West kicking her ex-boyfriend’s ass one day after class. West gives her that mental slap she’s been needing to take action or to at least snap out of her funk. She begins this sort of friendship with him that over time only intensifies their attraction for one another.

And on the other hand we have West. He certainly isn’t perfect. In fact, he’s pretty much hiding everything about himself and his home life from everyone. On the outside he’s just this guy who works odd jobs, including dealing a little weed here and there. He seems like the typical college guy, but the details on how he exactly got into school are anything but typical. He has his reasons and you won’t be able to not feel for him. By the end you may even love him. I know I did.

Even though I found West extremely sexy and loved him by the end, I loved Caroline’s ever-growing strength even more. She didn’t need West to get her to that place either, he was just there for her. And oh, boy, was he there for her. West gave her back her sense of self and her confidence and she took it and started kicking ass with it. And Deeper is more than Caroline’s journey, it’s also about West and his struggles too. They both help each other heal and get better and stronger.

Deeper is not a page-turner of a book, but a slow, delicious burn. It’s stays and lingers in your thoughts. I thought the ending was perfect too. Even though it was sad, there’s no other way it could have ended. I just know I need the next book, Harder, now!

Well, this book definitely took me DEEPER! I still think about it and its intensity. Ruthie.. ahem, I mean Robin ;) knows how to write NA in a controlled, yet compelling way. I’ll definitely be back to read the next installment in Caroline and West’s story. I have a feeling it’s going to get HARDER before it gets any easier though (ha, okay I’ll stop now lol).
