The year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.

That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.

Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.

But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit… or kill him.

Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.

The Tease

I finished TEMPEST by Julie Cross this weekend and absolutely LOVED it!! I wanted to give you both a Teaser and an Tune for it. Julie actually told me about the song, and how well it fit Tempest and Jackson. I completely agree with her!! It’s just prefect! I chose this teaser to give you an example of why I loved Jackson Meyer so much. Read more about him in my review of Tempest!

I sang the first line of the song into the phone.

“I can’t believe you know that song.”

“I can play it on guitar.”

“No way!”

“Seriously, I can. I’ll show you sometime.”

“Cool.”

Okay, so I cheated a little with the song thing, but I couldn’t help it if I knew her favorite song and if I had already learned to play it on the guitar to impress 009 Holly.

The Tune

The Man Who Can’t Be Moved by The Script

Going back to the corner where I first saw you,
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I’m not gonna move,
Got some words on cardboard got your picture in my hand,
Saying if you see this girl can you tell her where I am,
Some try to hand me money they don’t understand,
I’m not, broke I’m just a broken hearted man,
I know it makes no sense, but what else can I do,
How can I move on when I’m still in love with you

‘Cause if one day you wake up and find that you’re missing me,
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be,
Thinking maybe you’ll come back here to the place that we’d meet,
And you’d see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.

So I’m not moving
I’m not moving

Policeman says son you can’t stay here,
I said there’s someone I’m waiting for if it’s a day, a month, a year,
Gotta stand my ground even if it rains or snows,
If she changes her mind this is the first place she will go.

I’m not moving
I’m not moving

People talk about the guy
Who’s waiting on a girl

There are no holes in his shoes
But a big hole in his world

And maybe I’ll get famous as man who can’t be moved,
And maybe you won’t mean to but you’ll see me on the news,
And you’ll come running to the corner
‘Cause you’ll know it’s just for you

I’m the man who can’t be moved
I’m the man who can’t be moved

‘Cause if one day you wake up and find that you’re missing me,
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be,
Thinking maybe you’ll come back here to the place that we’d meet,
And you’d see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.

So I’m not moving
I’m not moving

I’m not moving
I’m not moving

Going back to the corner where I first saw you,
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag not I’m not gonna move.

Good teaser. You just made me want to read the book oh so much more.
Also, I love that song. I think it’s way better than their second single. I remembered the song itself long before I knew the band name.
