TGIF!

TGIF is a weekly feature created and hosted by GReads! that re-caps the week’s posts and has different question each week.

This week’s question: Love Stories: What are some of your favorite fictional love stories?

GAH!! SO many!! I’ll try to narrow it down to a few….

Jamie & Claire – Outlander by Diana Gabaldon: Come. ON! These two…their love and their marriage is so strong. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but in between what they go through in book two, Dragonfly in Amber, and book 3, Voyager, I thought, “There’s no way this can work.” Well, Diana Gabaldon proved me wrong. Jamie & Claire’s love transcends time and space and war and continents. If you have not picked up this epicness of a story — oh, so epic — you must do it soon.

Conrad & Belly – The Summer series by Jenny Han: Meant-to-be love, that’s what they have. From the time they were little kids! It was so obvious to everyone…and then life happened. *sigh* Following their story was tough because it was so heartbreaking most of the time! But it’s also why in the end it’s all worth it…the end of this series is one of my all time favorites.

Adam & Mia – If I Stay/Where She Went by Gayle Forman: He just wants her to stay…. *bawls* No further comments, as I may not recover if I keep talking about these two.

Joe & Lennie – The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson: Ok, so! Some people might not like Lennie in this book because of her actions. She feels lost and depressed and makes some bad decisions. However, letting Joe in was not one of them. Joe and Lennie together are the epitome of first love…batshit-crazy-in-love love. That dreamy kind that has you in the clouds. They have that.

And last but by no means least….

Seth & Georgina – The Succubus series by Richelle Mead: First – Don’t judge this series by its covers, which I admit are terrible. The love story in this series is one we all imagine and wonder if it may be real in real life. Reincarnation, soul-mates…yes, it is that romantic! With obstacles of hellish proportions…READ IT!!!

Follow Friday

Follow My Book Blog Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read where we all get together and say HI!

This week’s question: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?

Who came up with this question?!?! Why do you like to torture me with this kinds of choices???? LOL

Honestly…I think I might have to go with the 100s of mediocre. Reading my favorite over and over would lessen its luster, in my opinion. And I want to dive into new worlds and characters all the time, even if they’re not stunning.

I really need to read IF I Stay. I have it, I have a paperback copy and a Kindle copy. So I don’t know why I haven’t yet read it.

And? Because of your raving? I just got a copy of Succubus! I can’t wait to start it…

Stop by and see my TGIF / Follow Friday for this week!

Thankyouthankyouthankyou! I read Outlander about a month ago and LOVED it. But then I read the synopsis for Dragonfly in Amber…and didn’t want to read any further in the series. Buuuut…If Jamie & Claire make things work, I HAVE to read more. :) You just made my day, haha! ;)

  3. Jessica@a GREAT read

Ha ha!! Love your reaction to the Follow question! Although I did have to go with reading my fave over and over again. As much as I want variety, I don’t think I could handle a bunch of blah books.

Love the Seth and Georgina for TGIF! Should’ve chose them too, but didn’t think to make a long list, but so far everyone else has!

    Here’s my Friday Hops

    Have a GREAT weekend!

Oh gosh I am all so sad now because I have not read any of the epic love stories you mentioned! I need to get on that like ASAP! Your reasoning behind it all was enough to convince me to pick them up!

  5. Bookish_Nimue

Jamie and Claire made my list too. I just love these two. And I have to get around reading If I stay, everbody is saying good things about these books.

    Happy Friday! My TGIF post.

I had a hard time narrowing my favorite love stories too!  I really want to read the Summer series…it sounds awesome!  This week’s FF question was super hard…I ended up picking my favorites, but it wasn’t an easy decision.

I hope you don’t think I’m terrible because of this but… I haven’t read any of the books you picked for your favorite love stories! I obviously need to remedy that straightaway, as they all sound brilliant.

I still have to try the succubus series.. I love all the VA books, but this series I haven’t tried yet. Am I the only one that pronounces Succubus like…. SUCK – A – BUS ? Is that even possible? I think based on the commercial for that weird habit show that it might be.. there was some guy laying on the ground under his car half sitting up making out with the bumper.. tongue and all. He was going to town! It was so hot.

And the summer series.. I’m really excited to read those, when Andrea and I get too them.. but will I be able to get over the fact that her name is Belly? lol. Im honestly concerned.

Hi, my name is Courtney, and I’m not a new follower yet… I’m at work and our computers block certain links and so it isn’t letting me follow you, but I promise to follow you as soon as I get home!
Anyway, I still wanted to write a comment to you before I forget because I loved your answer to the TGIF question.
I came in to work today and my coworker had brought in a historical romance. So we started talking about different historical fiction books, and I of course thought of Outlander. Basically I was sharing that I have never lusted after a character in a novel the way I lusted after Jamie! So it made me laugh when I saw him down as one of your answers!
Anyway, have a great weekend and I promise to come back and follow you later.

If I Stay & Succubus are making me feel stupid. They are sitting on the shelf. So want to dive into Outlander.

  11. Courtney Buettner

Alright, I added you to my google reader! Told you I’d be back!

    Have a great weekend!

  12. Patricia

I’m ashamed to have to admit that except for Georgina and Seth’s books, I don’t know any of the others. Well I have heard of all of them, but I haven’t read the books. ;( Should do that, I suppose. *grin*

    Have a great day! <3
