TGIF!

TGIF is a weekly feature created and hosted by GReads! that re-caps the week’s posts and has different question each week.

This week’s question is: Author Love: In 2011 which new/old authors have you discovered & loved?

There’s a few!! Here’s a list (in no particular order):

1. Maria V. Snyder: I had actually read Inside Out early last year, when it came out, but those last few days before the end of 2010, I was completely engrossed by her Poison Study series. I had to include her in this list though because she ended my year on a high note.

2. Julie Kagawa: I’d had The Iron King on my shelf for a whole year, but then I got the audiobook for $5 on Audible.com and decided to finally get to it. What had I been waiting for?! I got The Iron Daughter soon right after, and plan to get The Iron Queen this week!

3. Jennifer Echols: I’ve only gotten to Going Too Far but it was enough to put her on this list. I LOVED that book!

4. Lauren DeStefano: Wither!! Need I say more?

5. Aimee Carter: The Goddess Test was one unexpected yet pleasant surprise. It so wasn’t what I thought it was going to be…it was better.

6. Holly Schindler: Playing Hurt was definitely not what I expected! It was better! AND…a blurb from my review is on her site!! My first ever! (Go HERE to see!)

7. Jay Asher: Thirteen Reasons Why struck such a chord with me. I cried (quite a lot!) while writing the review.

These next three are memorable because of their amazing writing and unbelievable endings!

8. Lauren Oliver: Delirium…Alex…the ending! Ah!!

9. Saundra Mitchell: The Vespertine…THOMAS! (My fiance’s name is Thomas, so it hurt more than it probably should, lol)

10. Jill S. Alexander: I think you guys have heard me whine enough about how much the ending of Paradise shattered me. lol I’ll spare you…but still. WHY?!? :(

Follow Friday

Follow My Book Blog Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee’s View where we all get together and say HI!

This week’s question is: How many books do you read in a week? And in what format do you read them, or listen to them?

I read one book, either PB, HB, or ebook, during the week and usually squeeze another or two on the weekends, depending on my mood and what I’m doing. I am always listening to an audiobook on my way to and from work and while at work, too! LOL I’m actually obsessed with my iPhone Audible app. Those usually take me about a week or two to finish since my commute is only about 15 minutes long. :)

Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Books where you have an awesome opportunity to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs to read!

This week’s question is: What book-to-movie adaption have you most liked? Which have you disliked?

Off the top of my head (and most recently viewed), of ones I’ve actually read, I really liked Water for Elephants, He’s Just Not That Into You, Something Borrowed, Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist and the Twilight movies.
