TGIF is a weekly feature created and hosted by GReads! that re-caps the week’s posts and has different question each week.
Taking it Personal: Which books have affected you on a personal level and lingered in your mind long after you closed the pages?
“How many of you have known someone who’s committed suicide? A classmate, friend, relative? I can think of 3. Two classmates and a friend’s younger sister.” (Click HERE to read full post.)
“Lola’s relationship with Max, who was older than her by five years, was very realistic. It showed how most of the time, dating someone that much older than you at her age, is not a good idea and most likely will never end well. I speak from experience, as my first boyfriend was four years older than me when I was fifteen.” (Click HERE to read full post.)
Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?).
I’d been a reader in my tween years, but stopped for a very long time. Just kind of lost interest. THEN! In 2009, I discovered Twilight. I read the whole series in 4 days!! The rest, as they say, was history. :) You can actually read the long version of this story on my About Me page!
