I won’t lie to you, guys! I have done this very thing before! I just can’t think of which books right now… ANYWAY! Here are my picks:
1. Requiem (Delirium #3) by Lauren Oliver (Pub. 2/2013) – After the ending in Pandemonium?! Who wouldn’t?!
2. Written in My Own Heart’s Blood (Outlander #8) by Diana Gabaldon (Pub. 2013) – Book 7 came out in 2009…OF COURSE I’d stay home for this book!! I’d probably need to be home sick for 2 days though because they’re typically so deliciously long! It’s one of my all time favorite series!!
3. Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins (Pub. 2013) – C’mon, now! Why would I go to work when I could live in Isla’s Happily Ever After for a day instead?
4. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (Pub. 9/2013) – I am DYING to read this book! I love Maggie, and I’ll be forever dying for her next books.
5. Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare (Pub. 2012) – I would fake my own death to stay home and read this one! TEAM WILL!!
6. City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5) by Cassandra Clare (Pub. 5/2012) – Because really…it’s Jace! Need I say more?
7. Shine (Shade #3) by Jeri Smith-Ready (Pub. 5/2012) – Fine, I admit it! It’s because I love Zachary and his kilt. *sigh* I’m a hopeless fictional boy addict.
8. Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth (Pub. 5/2012) – Because Tris needs to kick some ass all around town in this book. Oh yeah, and FOUR! :)
9. The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2) by Richelle Mead (Pub. 6/2012) – I want to see my darling Adrian get to a happy place!!
10. Enshadowed (Nevermore #2) by Kelly Creagh (Pub. 8/2012) – I have been waiting for-ev-errrrr for this sequel!! It’s time…and I’d so call in sick to read it.
Oh! oh! Ooooooh! BONUS PICK!!
Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi (Pub. 2/2013) – Tahereh’s beautiful writing is definitely worthy of me playing hooky for this book. :)
Christina (booktasty)
Totally in agreement on Clockwork Princess, City of Lost Souls and Insurgent! I like the idea of faking one’s own death to stay home and read! Now THAT’S commitment! :D

Can I just delete my list and copy yours? LOL!! I love all the future releases, I used a few that are already out as well…
Come see my Top Ten / Teaser Tuesday!
Jacinda @ Reading Housewives
My list would be similar! :) I’ve been NOT thinking or talking about Insurgent on purpose. I know I won’t read it until May 1st, so I’m doing my best to keep it out of my mind, lol. I’m also afraid it will suffer from Book #2 Syndrome…so yeah, I really, really hope not.
@BookwormAsheley
I’ve been trying to decide whether or not to read Delirium and Pandemonium because of the killer cliffhanger endings and how long it is until Requiem comes out. I KNOW I’ll love the books but I’m so petrified of the cliffhangers. That’s why I haven’t read City of Fallen Angels yet NOR Clockwork Prince. (Can you believe that?) I’m always scared that I’ll hate books after cliffhangers. Because I usually throw books after cliffhangers, lol. It hasn’t been hard to stay away from the Cassandra Clare books for some reason (despite the eons between them) but I’m having the toughest of times with the Lauren Oliver books…
Kelsey
Lots of awesome choices, yes to the Cassandra Clare books for sure!
Angela Arndt

I completely agree on Isla and the Happily Ever After AND Requiem! I’m almost mad I went ahead and read Pandemonium because now I’m dyingggg to read the third!
Bookgoonie
Very excited about the new Raven Boys series. I so can’t wait for Clockwork Princess. But Clare has me anxious about CoLS. I’m afraid she is going to torture Jace some more. ;(
Joli Huynh
ok, so I want to play hooky with you and read Shine, Requiem, and Isla. These are some great choices. The ending of Pandemonium was crazy – I’m just dying to find out where Lauren Oliver is going with this story. She is such an incredible writer and storyteller that I’m sure that it won’t disappoint.
Thanks for sharing your list.

1, 3, and 8? YES PLEASE!! 2013 is too far away though. I still can’t believe we’re in the year 2012, haha.
