Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Made Me Cry

Soooo the reason I changed this from Books That Will Make You Cry to Books That Made Me Cry is because I don’t really know how sensitive you are. Me? I’m SUPER sensitive. There’s always something, some emotion or act, that makes me shed a tear or straight up bawl like a baby.

“I’m Not Crying…”

These next six books brought tears to my eyes for similar reasons. All of them had characters who struggled with something or someone and that made me feel for them deeply. So deeply I shed a few tears.

1. Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller
2. Something Like Normal by Trish Doller
3. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

4. Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks
5. Three Sisters (Blackberry Island #2) by Susan Mallery
6. Before and Ever Since by Sharla Lovelace

“Cry Me A River…”

There’s nothing else to say with these. They made me bawl like a baby. The most recent being CHAMPION, and oh, man…wracking sobs at the end for some reason! I was sad and happy and relieved. Same with CLOCKWORK PRINCESS. The other two broke me and rebuilt me.

7. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
8. Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare
9. Champion (Legend #3) by Marie Lu
10. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

I LOVE YOUR LIST! We share a lot! I recently read Me Before You–totally made my list–and that book DESTROYED me. I was a messy, ugly crying MESS and I thought about the books for weeks…still thinking about it. Champion! Yes! SO amazing and I def had a few tears. And all Trish Doller books will just gut you…in a good way :)

    AMAZING list! :)

So I’m totally terrified of reading the Legend trilogy because of CHAMPION. If you don’t cry in THE FAULT IN OUR STARS you have no soul. And I’m getting WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE but gosh, may it please not destroy me!

Something Like Normal, The Fault in Our Stars and Me Before You all had me in tears. Me Before You being the worst. I cried so long I had red and swollen eyes and then had to go out in public. All those books were worth every tear though.

Great list, I’ve not read any of these except Me Before You and The Fault In Our Stars both of which turned me into a huge sobbing, snotty mess! I’ve got Statistical Probability and Clockwork Princess on my TBR so I know there are more tears ahead for me at some point :)

TFiOS – yes, of course! I also forgot about Clockwork Princess….I definitely shaded some tears at the end of that incredible series. I also loved Something Like Normal–definitely a tear jerker. Great list!

Good call on the Trish Doller. She totally has the knack for it. As does Sparks.

    Great list.

    Thanks for stopping by.

I can’t believe I forgot about Clockwork Princess and Something Like Normal! I loved and cried at them both! Great list!

I am reading TFIOS right now and I can tell I’ll be bawling by the end. So good so far though. And the Infernal Devices books, I have been holding picking those back up just because I’ve seen all the twitter tears around. I’m scared. lol.

I was surprised how devastated I was at the end of Me Before You. I was so made…and so sad…and so sore from crying so hard. I love a great tearjerker! Really enjoyed your picks! Oh, and I LOVE the name of your blog and your header!!

Me Before You is one that I’ve been wanting to read! It sounds great and i’ve heard a lot of good things about it from bloggers! Definitely sounds like a tear jerker though… And apparently I am the last person to read TFIOS because I haven’t read it yet. It just scares me because I know it’ll destroy me.
