About Life…
Looking For Alaska by John Green – What are we doing with our lives?! This book made me consider a great perhaps… ;)
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky – Made me think about how many moments I chose not to participate in my own life. CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE, PEOPLE! :)
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green – Gosh…this book made me think about how we should love the people in our lives with our every breathe, because there are people whose lives get cut too short.
If I Stay (If I Stay #1) by Gayle Forman – All I could think about was how life can be over in the blink of an eye….seriously. Besides making me cry, it made me want to hug everyone I love.
About People…
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher – Reading what it could be like for a kid who is constantly tormented, sometimes unintentionally, really made me think about how I treat others. You never know what someone’s already going through, so why add on to that.
Send by Patty Blount – I turn, I never considered a book from the point of view of the bully would be so emphatic. It really made me think how it’s not always good vs. evil…sometimes it’s just a mistake.
What I Saw And How I Lied by Judy Blundell – What would you do for your family? How far would you go? I really can’t say too much without spoiling it for you, but I see a lot of true crime shows on tv that always make me think of this book…and it always enrages me.
About the World…
The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins – Need I say more?!
Delirium (Delirium #1) by Lauren Oliver – A world without love is no world for me!!
Wither (The Chemical Garden #1) by Lauren DeStefano – In this world, I’d be dead already since I’m way past the life expectancy, but it made me think how awful it could be to always live in fear of being kidnapped, killed, or married off for breeding purposes. *shudders*

I had a few of these on my list too! The Fault in Our Stars and If I Stay both made me want to hug everyone I love. And Wither and The Hunger Games both would freak me out to live in a world like that.

Love your choices – TFIOS and Thirteen Reasons just blew my mind for good, I had to basically debrief myself. I’m especially keen to read “Send”.

Great list! Love the John Green and Hunger Games mentions. I really need to read If I Stay soon.

Great list. The Hunger Games always struck me how it just a few steps away from some of todays reality shows. They don’t commit murder but they do thrive on the misery and in some cases humiliation of contestants, and the appetite of the general public for such fare.

Such an awesome list! I completely agree with what you say about Delirium! I almost included Wither on my list too, the thought of living in a world like that is almost too much to cope with!
My Top Ten

Oh oh oh! So glad to see that someone else put Wither on their list! The Hunger Games is also on my list. Those books definitely make you think a lot about the world.

John Green’s books ALWAYS make me think. For real. I love how with simple situations and just blunt moments between his characters we kind of end up thinking about life and other things.
And yes, The Hunger Games definitely made me think too! Lot of what-ifs with that book.

Definitely need to read If I Stay and I highly agree on Perks of Being a Wallflower! Am excited for the movie, btw!
