Top Ten Tuesday: Books Which Feature Characters Who Are Musically Inclined

I knew I wanted to talk musical books because . I wish I could see all of these guys in real life, performing. These are the best of the ones I’ve read, so let’s get to’em!

The Rock Stars

If I Stay/Where She Went by Gayle Forman – You KNOW about Adam, right? Ok. ‘Nough said.

Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready – Logan and his siblings are one talented family. Tragic, tragic, tragic.

Little Drummer Girl

Paradise by Jill S. Alexander – I loved how dedicated Paisley is to her drums and band.

She’s A Little Bit Country

Open Road Summer by Emery Lord – I loved this country superstar of a girl.

The Local Favorites

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen – DEXTERRRRR!!  I have a special post ALLL about him.

The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine – Michael is talented as he is hot. And Morganville loves to hear him play.

Steal My Heart Singer-Songwriters

The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson – Joe’s Bat. Bat. Bat Eyelashes and his guitar stole my heart.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater – Everyone loves Cole, including me, because he’s a sexy rockstar… but Sam owns my heart. His guitar and his songs… *sigh*

I Am the DJ

This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales – Elise finds her calling in the most unexpected place.

Most Fantastic Bagpiper That Ever Lived

Ballad by Maggie Stiefvater – JAMES! He was my first Maggie Stiefvater love. He’s seriously the best. And nothing like Ross.

Cool topic – I’m glad you mentioned Sam for Shiver. I was impressed when he said Elliott Smith was one of his musical inspirations. :)

    Check out my TTT.

So first of all…. I love that we share a love for music!! Second, I LOVE THIS FREAKING POST!!! Third, I haven’t read quite a few of these, which is why I am now headed over to goodreads to give my unread ass a kick!!

I love this post! I thought about music but the only ones I could think of were Aria and Roar from Under the Never Sky and Dossam and Ana from Incarnate.

Oh, I love your version of this topic! I’d had a similar idea myself, but then couldn’t make it to three books with musically inclined characters. So that was a fail.

I pressed the wrong button and wasn’t finished so now that’s awkward. Anyway, I wanted to say that this is my first visit and I love your blog design. It’s SO pretty.
      That is all.

Have you read NO PLACE TO FALL by Jaye Robin Brown? I know you already have 10, but you gotta have a banjo player if you have a bagpiper on the list.

Will is good and when he sings with Amber *swoon*

YES to If I Stay/Where She Went and Open Road Summer! So much love. I need to check out a few more of these, don’t I?
Have you read Dirty Little Secret by Jennifer Echols? I kind of loved it and had an ORS feel (before ORS)
