Tune in Tuesday: Book Playlists - The Forest of Hands & Teeth | The Dark & Hollow Places | Forever | Nightshade

A weekly feature hosted by GReads! where we showcase some good tunes! :)

I LOVE THIS EDITION!! I can’t wait to show you guys some of my favorite book/songs combos. Some I will have mentioned before and some will be new. I hope you like all of them. :)

This week is all about the zombies and the werewolves.

The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie RyanThis song is perfect for a certain character in this series who I won’t name so as not to spoil it for you. Just know that I BAWLED my eyes out all through Chapter 32.

The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan & Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World

Quote: “Those days back there, in the house…that is my world. That is my truth,” he says. “That is my ocean.”

On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
So what would you think of me now,
so lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I’ll never have a chance.
May angels lead you in
Hear you me my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in
And if you were with me tonight,
I’d sing to you just one more time
A song for a heart so big,
god wouldn’t let it live

The Dark and Hollow Places by Carrie RyanWhen I heard this song, I instantly thought of Annah from The Dark and Hollow Places. Annah is on the verge of giving up when we first meet her. She is done. But something happens that makes her turn around and keep going and all of the words below could be coming from her.

The Dark and Hollow Places by Carrie Ryan & November by Azure Ray

So I’m waiting for this test to end,
so these lighter days can soon begin;
I’ll be alone, but maybe more carefree,
Like a kite that floats so effortlessly;

I was afraid to be alone,
but now I’m scared that’s how I like to be;
All these faces run the same,
how can there be so many personalities?

So many lifeless, empty hands,
so many hearts in great demand;
and now my sorrow seems so far away,
until I’m taken by these bolts of pain;

But I turn them off, and tuck them away,
until those rainy days that make them stay;
And then I’ll cry so hard to these sad songs,
and the words still ring, once here, now gone;

And they echo through my head everyday,
and I don’t think they’ll ever go away;
Just like thinking of your childhood home,
but we can’t go back, we’re on our own;

Ohh…

But I’m about to give this one more shot,
And find it in myself, I’ll find it in myself;

So we’re speeding towards that time of year,
to the day that marks that you’re not here

Forever by Maggie StiefvaterIs this not the perfect Sam and Grace song?! Especially in Linger and Forever, since their world is “splitting at the seams” but they won’t give up on each other? Yeah…it’s perfect. :)

Forever by Maggie Stiefvater & No One’s Gonna Love You by Band of Horses

It’s looking like a limb torn off
Or altogether just taken apart
We’re reeling through an endless fall
We are the ever-living ghost of what once was
But no one is ever gonna love you more than I do
No one’s gonna love you more than I do

And anything to make you smile
It is my better side of you to admire
But they should never take so long
Just to be over then back to another one

But no one is ever gonna love you more than I do
No one’s gonna love you more than I do

But someone,
They could have warned you
When things start splitting at the seams and now
The whole thing’s tumbling down
Things start splitting at the seams and now
If things start splitting at the seams and now,
It’s tumbling down
Hard

Nightshade by Andrea CremerIf you split the song in two sections, the first one is SO obviously about Shay, and the second is ALL Ren. See for yourselves! :) Also, I’m in love with the singer of Neon Trees, hehe.

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer & Animal by Neon Trees

Here we go again
I kinda wanna be more than friends
So take it easy on me
I’m afraid, you’re never satisfied
Here we go again
We’re sick like animals, we play pretend
You’re just a cannibal
And I’m afraid I won’t get out alive
I won’t sleep tonight

Oh oh
I want some more
Oh oh
What are you waiting for
Take a bite of my heart tonight
Oh oh
I want some more
Oh oh
What are you waiting for
What are you waiting for
Say goodbye to my heart tonight

Here we are again
I feel the chemicals kickin’ in
It’s getting heavy
And I wanna run and hide
I wanna run and hide

I do it every time
You’re killin’ me now
And I won’t be denied by you
The animal inside of you

Oh oh
I want some more
Oh oh
What are you waiting for
Take a bite of my heart tonight
Oh oh
I want some more
Oh oh
What are you waiting for
What are you waiting for
Say goodbye to my heart tonight

Hush, hush, the world is quiet
Hush, hush, we both can’t fight it
It’s us that made this mess
Why can’t you understand?
Whoa, I won’t sleep tonight
