Bloggiesta – I’m doing it!

Other Bookish Posts

Hi, everyone! This is my first ever Bloggiesta!

What is Bloggiesta, you ask? Read all about it HERE! Then, if like me, you decided to sign up, go HERE after you’ve created your post. :)

So what do I want to get accomplished this Bloggiesta?

  • Update my review listings on the blog.
  • Update my templates in Windows Live Writer.
  • Make sure all my reviews are posted to Goodreads.
  • Write up and schedule as many posts/reviews as possible for the upcoming weeks.
  • Update as many old posts to new format.
  • Chat and bloghop during this event with other participants.
  • Update all of my Categories and Tags!

I may add more if they come to me, but I think that’s really all I want to work on.

I can’t wait to get started! See you guys then!

Finish Line!

SO! Now that this VERY productive weekend is over, let me tell you what I got accomplished:

1. I updated my Reviews pages! I have my reviews listed by Author and by Book Title, and they were missing pretty much all of my reviews so far this year.

2. I updated my templates in WLW, which wasn’t a huge task because I had done most of them already.

3. It turns out I had mostly all of my reviews already cross-posted on Goodreads, so I didn’t have to do much on that front.

4. I scheduled posts for this week…that is better than nothing but still not what I had in mind, lol.

5. I updated most of my old reviews to the new blog theme/format on Saturday night and pretty much all of Sunday. They look way better! Am still missing a few though, and I still need to do the other posts that are not reviews.

6. I was able to participate in each of the Twitter chat parties! But since I was so focused on working on the blog I didn’t get a chance to do many challenges or visit blogs. I want to make sure this happens next Bloggiesta.

7. I updated all the Categories and Tags in all of my posts. I had all of them labeled when I was with Blogger, but when I switched to WP, they didn’t carry over, sadly. It took me about 3 hours on Friday night and 4 on Saturday morning to get them all updated. It feels good to have this done because now people will be able to sort my posts more easily and accurately.

I loved this event. I really loved the Twitter parties the best. I also did get to visit some challenges where I learned a few things, like line breaks in posts. :) Thanks, Jacinda (Reading Housewives)!!

Good luck! I doubt I’ll be able to devote any time to Bloggiesta this year as much as I would like to… time is currently my enemy.

I had never heard of this! You can bet I’m signing up!! RIGHT NOW!!!

I didn’t realize you used Windows Live Writer. I keep thinking I need to find a program like that; maybe I’ll download it today and play for a bit!

Yay! You can be my Bloggiesta partner ;)
I’m actually really excited to participate this time around.  I really hope it gives me the kick in the pants that I need to tackle my laundry list of blog stuff!  I’ve procrastinated long enough, lol

Hey, way to go on everything! Setting up posts for this week would be a huge accomplishment in my book. So great job!

I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed the event! Hopefully you can continue to revisit the challenges on your own and still keep learning. Enjoy and thanks so much for participating in Bloggiesta! We’ll see you again in September!

Congrats on getting so much accomplished! Seemed to take forever to update my reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, and Barnes and Noble! I’ve vowed to never let it go that long again, so fingers crossed I can stick to that!

Nice work! Congratulations on having so much done on a weekend. Talk about being committed to our blogs. It’s so inspiring visiting so many finish-line Bloggiesta posts and seeing how amazing the bookblogging community is. It’s great that your Goodreads is linked to your reviews, I didn’t even try that one, since I know I’d go bonkers. Perhaps for the next Bloggiesta? Hehehe.

Labels are such a pain to add and update after the fact. Congrats on getting that done and everything else you accomplished this weekend! – Erika @ One A Day Y.A. (this comment system links to my other blog)

You accomplished a lot! I didn’t participate in challenges or visit other blog as much as I would like to either because of all the work, but I still had a great time.

You certainly got a lot done!!! I finally got around to creating a review archive page – right now it’s just listed by author, and what a task that was to do! I might still tweak it, but at least it’s done. I learned quite a bit from the mini-challenges and already have my list going for the next Bloggiesta!
