Movies
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – While I thought this movie was NOT-BAD, I didn’t like it as much as the first one. Also, I thought it was a bit out of control when it came to the treatment of these dinos! I know they’re not real, but they’re real in my heart!
Ant-Man and the Wasp – This movie was as fun as I expected it to be. The real surprise for me was just how BADASS Evangeline Lilly is. I have a new girl crush. Paul Rudd was a delight as always and Michael Peña was just hilarious.
Whitney – What a heartbreaking portrait. While it celebrated all of her amazing accomplishments and her incredible voice, in the end, the way we lost her is just heartbreaking. I recommend it if you’re a fan of hers.
Mamma Mia! Here we go Again – OMG HOW FUN WAS THIS MOVIE! I found it delightful and touching. So much so that I cried at a couple different moments. I agree that for the most part it feeels like they wrote this movie around ABBA’s songs, but who cares? I don’t!
Music
Thirty Seconds to Mars, Walk the Moon, K.Flay, and Welshly Arms – What an amazing show. The three opening acts really stole the show for me. I don’t know that I’ll go see 30STM again though. I’ve seen them a few times now and every time Jared Leto sings less and less. He spends a lot of his time saying “Everybody scream” – “jump! jump!” or getting the crowd to sing for him.
If you want to check out clips from the show, go to my Instagram and check out my saved highlights named “ Jul ’18” (or click the link!)
TV Shows
Hannah Gadsby: Nanette – This comedy special left quite the impression on me. I highly recommend you watch it. It’s more than just comedy.
The Handmaid’s Tale – I didn’t think the first season could be topped but I was wrong!! I continue to be impressed by the storytelling and the acting. WOW.
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Go you!!! I haven’t been to the movies in ages! I sooo wanted to see just about every Marvel movie this year! Now I’m pretty much waiting for Redbox or Netflix to get them!
