In Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.
Music Monday is a feature where I post a video of a song that reminds me of something or someone I’ve read…anything that relates to it in my mind.
What songs remind you of certain books or character?? Create a post and leave the link or just tell me about them in the comments. I’d love to know!!
In Linger by Maggie Stiefvater we meet Cole. Cole is a complicated character. If you’ve read the book, you know his past is…extreme. There’s a girl, one who may or may not have been his first love, that he treated badly, and it torments him. This song has always made me think of Cole and his relationship with her, because I’m sure she sees him that way.
Let’s talk about this song, Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri. I actually hadn’t seen the official video for this song until I looked it up to post it. This video is BEAUTIFUL!! The song is heartbreaking. I suggest you watch it twice, once to gawk at it and a second time to actually relate it to what I’m talking about, lol, because I was entranced the first time I watched it and forgot all about the words. I’m a huge fan of So You Think You Can Dance (where I first heard this song) and squealed when I saw some of the dancers from the show in this video!!
