Every girl who had taken the test has died.
Now it’s Kate’s turn.
It’s always been just Kate and her mom – and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate’s going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear that her mother won’t live past the fall.
Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld – and if she accepts his bargain, he’ll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.
Kate is sure he’s crazy – until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she’ll become Henry’s future bride and a goddess.
If she fails…
Happy Music Monday! This is a weekly feature hosted here at Gone with the Words where I post a video of a song that reminds me of something or someone I’ve read, anything that relates to it in my mind. I’d love to know what songs remind you of certain books or character. Create a post and leave the link or just tell me about them in the comments!!
If you haven’t read The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter yet, you should totally go out and get it. It was SO good! The relationship between the main characters, Kate and Henry, was unique and I completely loved it. Read my review HERE to get more (spoiler-free) details on the story and Kate & Henry! Jimmy Eat World is one of my most favorite bands ever. 23 is one of those songs that you find yourself taking in with your eyes closed, headphones on.
This song is for Henry…from Kate. :)
Henry has been alone for a very long time, and before he wasn’t, the woman he loved didn’t love him back, she resented him. But then along comes Kate…
No one else will know these lonely dreams
No one else will know that part of me
It was my turn to decide
I knew this was our time
No one else will have me like you do
No one else will have me, only you
You’ll sit alone forever
If you wait for the right time
What are you hoping for?
I’m here and now I’m ready
Holding on tight
Don’t give away the end
The one thing that stays mine
