Montana Actually by Fiona Lowe

3.5 Stars

Montana Actually was a really fun read! Big city doctor with a chip on his shoulder just can’t imagine ever loving this small Montana town. He especially doesn’t imagine himself lusting over his feisty landlord, Katrina, let alone becoming friends with her… Because this is all temporary, right?

I love the chemistry between Josh and Katrina. They could really get on each other’s nerves, yet have really fun moments together. It didn’t take long for these two to fall into bed with each other. They were both instantly attracted to one another, which made the moments when they were fighting totally fun. Their reasons for wanting to keep it easy, light, and secret between them were realistic and I got it. But we all know this doesn’t always end up being the case. Feelings happen!! Josh was clueless in this area, but when it came to being there for Katrina he did very well. Katrina, in turn, provided Josh with the support he never knew he needed from another person. These two really complemented each other so well.

Bear Paw is a REALLY small town where everybody knows each other. The families are true ranchers with real cowboys. In fact, there’s one cowboy who also gets his happily ever after in this book. I was surprised that there’d be two romantic arcs in one book, but it happened. Normally the author will set it up, but not completely finish it, so I was pleasantly surprised by it. AND! That story was a lot more emotional than Josh and Katrina’s.

I really enjoyed Montana Actually actually. :) I think it’s a great setup for future books set in Bear Paw. I enjoyed all the characters and look forward to reading more of their happily ever afters.

A big-city doctor in a small-town Montana practice…A former nurse who has sworn off doctors forever…The scene is set for passions to ignite in Big Sky Country. For readers of Robyn Carr and Sherryl Woods.

City doctor Josh Stanton and his sports car don’t suit the country, but with his medical school debt about to bury him, Josh has to make the best out of a bad situation. Adjusting to his new job and life in the middle of nowhere isn’t easy, but at least the views of the mountains—and one distractingly attractive local—are stunning…

After eight years away, Katrina McCade is back in Bear Paw for a break from her life, bad choices—and men. But when a broad-shouldered stranger bursts into town, she finds herself unexpectedly saddled with the town’s sexy new doctor as a tenant. Katrina doesn’t need a man to make her happy, especially a disgruntled physician. But try telling her body that…

Awww, this seems totally cute. I really enjoy small-town romances. I’m not sure why, because I would hate to live in a town where everyone knew my business, but still they are so much fun to read about. And yay for an emotional secondary romance.

I just love this types of books! And because I’m from Portugal and we don’t have cowboys I’m always very curious when I know a book has them.
