Subscription Alternatives for Gone with the Words

Hello, Friends!!

Gone with the Words is about to celebrate its one year blogoversary, and it truly has been a great experience so far. My hopes are that I am able to keep you as a reader and to make the transition from GFC as painless as possible. ALSO! There will be some giveaways in the next couple of months, so you definitely want to be around for those! :)

What GFC transition, you ask? Well, there’s been some talk recently from Google saying that Google Friend Connect will be discontinued for non-Blogger sites. Though Gone with the Words is a Blogger site, I don’t want to wait until they disable it for us too, which, lets face it, is probably their next step. So, this newsletter is to urge you to subscribe to this blog directly through one of the following options below. It really is incredibly easy to do, and it takes about two seconds.

Here are the subscription options that are on my sidebar:

If you liked viewing posts in Google Reader, then you want to use Feedly or Bloglovin.

The other options are pretty straight forward, but if you would like more information about them or anything else on this post, please don’t hesitate to leave it in the comments. I will try to answer to the best of my ability.

    Jessica@a GREAT read

Okay, so does this mean GFC will still be available to Blogger blogs?

I’ve been hearing about this transition and now I’m getting more confused.

Yes, for now GFC is still active on Blogger blogs, and we don’t have an end date as of right now, but they are planning to shut it down for everyone eventually… Rie, from Mission to Read, has a post on it with a little more information:

This is such a cool and helpful post that I think I’m gonna steal it, so if you see a post on my blog that looks suspiciously like this one you can blame your own awesomeness for it! And thanks for not sending a newsletter to all your GFC subscribers, so far I’ve gotten like 20 of those and it’s starting to feel like spam. ;-)

LOL, Actually…I did send one. It looked liked this post. I did figure that it would be a good idea to also do a post though, in case some people missed it. And no worries, I suspect there will be a lot more of these posts in the next few days/weeks/months. :)

I’m already subscribed through Feedburner, but I just want to say that this post is AWESOME Jess.  I wonder if people realize that they can get all their Blogger subscriptions through Google reader if they don’t already use it.  Hmm.

This is a super rad post. Now that GFC is on the outs, I may migrate back to WordPress. Hmmmm.
