First & Last of 2011 | Blogging Resolutions for 2012

This week on Gone with the Words:
Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Books I Read in 2011
Waiting on Wednesday: Chopsticks
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare – Goodreads Updates Edition

TGIF is a weekly feature created and hosted by GReads! that re-caps the week’s posts and has different question each week.

This week’s question: First & Last: What was the first book you read in 2011 and the last you finished in 2011? How do you feel about these books? Would you recommend them to other readers?

The first book I read this year, from January 1st to January 2nd, was Kelley Armstrong’s Tales of the Otherworld, which is a collection of short stories from her widely known adult series, Women of the Otherworld. This is one of my most favorite series out there. I love it the same now as I did when I read it a year ago, and I will push this series on anyone who wants to dabble into and adult genre. It’s still paranormal mystery, but not overly sexual if it’s something that scares you.

The last book I will be reading in 2011 is Divergent, which I started today and will be done with by Saturday. I promised lots of bookish friends I’d read it before the year was over and I’m cutting it close, but I’m doing it!! :D

Follow Friday

Follow My Book Blog Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read where we all get together and say HI!

This week’s question: The New Year is here – and everyone wants to know your New Years Blogging Resolution! What are you going to try to revise, revamp and redo for 2012 on your blog?

The most important for me is to continue to keep blogging fun, which I was able to do this whole year.

Second would be to get better organized..schedule more reviews ahead of time, as in weeks, instead of days.

Third, comment more. Comments are nice to receive, so I want to give more of my blogging friends that nice feeling. :)

Fourth, hang out with my local bookish friends more, be out at signings, book events, or just lunch.

I am so anxious to hear your thoughts on Divergent!!

I am with you on scheduling posts… I need to work on that, because I fall behind if I don’t.

Scheduling reviews and other posts weeks ahead is definitely something I need to do next year. It’s probably the only way I’ll be able to keep my blog active!

Anyway, I’m a new follower, and I have to say that your header is gorgeous! Seriously lovely.

Great resolutions! :) I feel like the organizational part I have down (surprisingly LOL) but I really do need to work on commenting.

You’ve started this year with awesome and if you like Divergent as much as most of us others do, you’ll end it with awesome, as well. LOL

I have the comment goal as well, although I think the scheduling and keeping it fun should have been on my list as well. Okay, hard to un-fun bookblogging imo, but sometimes people make it possible. *g*

Yay!  Divergent!  I will be looking forward to your review!  My mom just picked Divergent up to read recently and she’s finding it hard to put down.  I hope you have a similar reaction.  :)

I’m so excited for you that you’re finally reading Divergent! I hope you like it, though some people end up not liking it as much as I did because they’re overwhelmed by the whole dystopian wave.

And I agree with all of your resolutions! The second and the third one are the things I’m working on next year as well.
