Book Blogger Influences | Fictional Characters Battle

This week on Gone with the Words:
Teen Book Con 2012
Tune in Tuesday: Blind Pilot
Waiting on Wednesday: Smashed by Lisa Luedeke

This week’s TGIF! question: Book Blogger Influences: Has there been a particular book blogger who’s influenced what you read? Share with us a review/book blog that convinced you to pick up a certain book.

My main influencers are my in real life blogger friends, Ginger (GReads!) and Lena (Addicted 2 Novels). I know that if they like it and are strongly suggesting it to me, I’ll like it. Ginger has gotten me to read lots of Contemporaries, including Jennifer Echols, Jenny Han, and Jeri Smith-Ready‘s books, which are among my favorites now. Lena just convinced me to read the Shifters series by Rachel Vincent. :)

Lisa of Lisa is Busy Nerding completely influenced my Patrick Ness series purchase.

I finally gave in and read Divergent AND Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison because of Amanda of On a Book Bender. They were both awesome!

VERY recently–like, yesterday–Magan of Rather be Reading convinced me to get Hourglass by Myra McEntire.

Yani of The Secret Life of an Avid Reader AND Jacinda of The Reading Housewives made move A Need So Beautiful by Suzanne Young up my list.

Follow Friday

This week’s Follow Friday question: Fight! Fight! If you could have two fictional characters battle it out (preferably from books), who would they be and who do you think would win?

Ooooooh!! I’m going to go with two of my favorite Dystopian boys: Four (Divergent) and Adam (Shatter Me). They’re both human and military trained, so it’d be a GOOD fight! I LOVE BOTH!!! But I have a feeling Four would win this fight. He just seems a bit tougher than Adam, just a smidgen. :)

I haven’t read Shatter Me yet, I just get it from the library and I can’t wait to start it! But I’ll have to agree with you about Four either way, I’m a big fan a Four. :-)

Some of the bloggers you mentioned are favs of mine too. Ginger’s contemp recommendations I totally eat up. I know that if she likes them, I will probably love them too.

I know the books but haven’t read them yet, it sounds like a great choice.

I would love to see a Four/Adam fight!  Great answer and I agree that Four seems a little bit tougher.

Wow, so many great reviews! I really didn’t know where to start this week and I know that I forgot about a dozen reviewers. Feels horrible!

Lol, didn’t even think of Four! Amazing choices. One of mine is Adam, and I have him losing too:( Poor guy. It’s just that with Juliette’s superpower, she so much tougher than him!
I would definitely want to see Four vs. Adam. Craziness.
